For a team to be successful it must have certain key characteristics, such as shared goals, shared leadership, and effective communication. While traditional team-building approaches focus on games and similar fun-based activities.
they can create team bonding, but they do not create a sustainable team structure or pursue any of the important team characteristics required. Globibo doesn’t attempt to build teams indirectly through team bonding but instead tries to work to create an effective team directly. For example, we discuss meeting objectives and a communication schedule, which has an immediate impact on how the team performs.

Step 1 – Management Prioritisation
In an interview, Globibo will assess the objectives and priorities of the management team that request the team-building workshops. Based on the information gathered, the overall program can be customized and the upcoming stakeholder survey adjusted.
Step 2 – Stakeholder Survey
A stakeholder survey will provide quantitative and qualitative information regarding the strengths and weaknesses of the current team. Based on the results, the overall program can be fine-tuned. The stakeholder questionnaire will survey team members as well as external parties that can provide feedback on the strength and weaknesses of the team.
Once the survey results are consolidated, Globibo will review the output with the management team and align the overall team building agenda to the company’s objectives and goals.
The team-building approach is based on the GALTA approach. The six stages of GALTA are an inspiration, preparation, transition, practice, feedback, and review. Based on what occurs during the GALTA process, each participant will be asked to formulate an action plan to follow up in the subsequent weeks and months. This action plan will be monitored by the client and/or Globibo.
Once the team-building activities have been completed, the participants will be asked to complete a feedback survey on how changes should be taken forward into the organization.
After the findings of this survey are consolidated, Globibo will determine with the management team which action should be pursued in subsequence to the team building activities.
Based on the team-building workshops as well as the management review, the trainer will schedule follow-up sessions with the participants and/or the management team to determine whether they can apply what they have learned in the workshop to their daily office routines.

The team-building approach includes eight parts. Those parts are shared goals and priorities, shared leadership, clear roles for accountability, effective communication, clear decision making, leverage of diverse skills, creative problem solving, and honest appreciation and fun.
1 – Shared Goals and Priorities
One of the major challenges for teams is that there is little understanding or transparency about the goals or priorities of all team members. In the Globibo team-building program, we perform a joint-strategy review, which provides time to discuss and re-evaluate the objectives, performance indicators, and project portfolios of the team.
2 – Shared Leadership
In a functional team, leadership has to be shared with different team members on different topics. With everybody appreciating their leadership responsibility they can be equipped with the right tools and methods to drive initiatives and responsibilities successfully. In the Globibo team-building program, we discuss leadership styles and agree upon how to follow up on key leadership behavior in the office.
Within professional teams, the roles and functions that everyone performs are often not entirely clear or clarified, which may lead to frustrating confusions and inefficiencies. Especially in changing environments, job functions have to continuously develop while individuals may not have full access to information. In the team-building approach, we draw a functional/process relationship between people and current breakpoints to discuss optimizations.
One of the major challenges with teams is internal as well as external communication. Often a huge array of inefficient meetings fill up the daily schedule without yielding a lot of advantages for the participants. In the team-building approach, we identify how to increase information flow, streamline communication and quickly solve conflicts.
A majority of teams suffer from unclear or no decision-making. On the other hand, clear authorities and fast decision-making are key factors of high-performing teams. In the Globibo team-building program, we discuss governance models, decision-making bodies, and communication of the decision.
A huge opportunity for teams is that participants in teams do not always know each other well enough to know one another’s specialized skill sets. In the team-building approach, there is a joint internal and external review of talents and a discussion of leverage beyond the current or existing functional responsibilities.
Team members are accustomed to conventional methods of solving problems and are not often keen to explore new and creative ways to do things. To correct this, the trainer will provide at least two case studies on existing issues, upon which the participants will brainstorm. In the team-building approach, the trainer will use problem-solving strategies for existing challenges within the organization.
To encourage and strengthen the team, the trainer will review past success stories and create a social calendar with the participants. In the Globibo team-building program, the facilitator will identify key success factors of teamwork and determine appreciation patterns and social activities.
